Ana Prades López

BA in Political Science and Sociology and PhD in Information Science from the Complutense University of Madrid. I am a Senior Scientist at Public Research Organisations (OPI) and head of the Centre for Socio-technical Research (CISOT-CIEMAT) in Barcelona. My research has focused on the field of social perception and communication of environmental and technological risk, as well as on instruments for citizen participation in the context of climate change and sustainability. The implications of these processes for environmental policy making and implementation is another of my research areas.

I have coordinated the PACHEBEL Project (Policy Addressing Climate Change and Learning about Consumer Behavior and Everyday Life), funded by the European Union's 7th Framework Programme (2010-2013); the Social Studies on Fusion Programme (SES: Socioeconomic Studies on Fusion) (2014-2020); and I am currently coordinating the ECF4CLIM project (A European Competence Framework for a Low Carbon Economy and Sustainability Through Education), funded by H2020 and focused on the development of a European competence framework on climate change and sustainability for the education community (2021-2025). I led the creation of the Working Group on Socio-technical Research of CEIDEN (Technological Platform for Nuclear Fission Energy R&D) and the Working Group on Social Aspects of Radiation Protection of PREPI (National Platform for Radiation Protection R&D).
